Resources: Making Data Accessible
We believe in a data culture based on transparency, trust, and collaboration. The resources below were developed to provide publicly available, quality, timely data to support anyone interested in better understanding the state of our community.
Finding and making sense of the data we need to understand household need in Hawaiʻi, and what to do about it, can be a challenge. Hawaiʻi Data Explorer serves as a bridge that aggregates sources and makes them easily searchable and therefore more visible.
Aloha United Way 211 is Hawai‘i’s primary resource for struggling households seeking support. Aloha United Way (AUW) and Hawai‘i Data Collaborative are partnering to enhance AUW 211’s data reporting capabilities to provide timely metrics, updated weekly, on household need across the state.
Hawaii.PolicyMap centralizes Hawai‘i-relevant data across dozens of state and federal data sources in a user-friendly way that makes data mapping, visualization and analysis accessible. Available data covers economic opportunity, housing, quality of life, education, health, and more.
Designed with social service providers in mind, Hawai‘i Data Collaborative developed ‘Ohana Pulse, a data collection tool designed to help address the uncertainties of who is in greatest need, and how to most effectively deliver limited resources to households and communities across the state.
